The Rogue and the Ranger

Description

... I may or may not have been sucked into playing Dungeons and Dragons with a few of my friends. And we may or may not have spent six and a half hours on Saturday night putting together a couple of characters each. I'd already doodled these two when we'd decided our classes, but I felt obliged to make them look a little prettier than the scruffy sketch I did.

I have ~never~ play D&D before, so these guys are probably going to die so easily - we haven't started to play since it took so long to roll them all... But we have:

Dekker, the 3'1" chaotic neutral halfling rogue who has already marked himself out as the jackass of the group before we've even started (he's been threatened with being sat and set on fire already, which bodes well/I've characterised him well and he's going to get killed for being a troublemaker 8D).
And Nazir, the 6' neutral good human ranger who was pretty, rolled low charisma and was handily mauled by a bear he was trying to make friends with to take his physical appearance down a notch (because low = looking like a gorgon, apparently? Not going to happen, he's emotionally and socially stunted, so that makes up for it).

Dekker's going to be one hell of a character (if he doesn't get murdered), since he's probably one of the most powerful guys we've got since I rolled nicely with him, while Nazir's meh, not too bad, but only after having to re-roll since I'd used up all my rolling luck with Dekker. And Dekker is totally a leprechaun because I wanted a red haired character finally (since I love colouring it 8D), and I feel he needs an Irish accent to go with his appearance - I mean he's totally a badass thief, while Nazir is an ex-nomad who was exiled from his tribe after being set up. He's kinda a mix of Middle Eastern culture (Bedouin for his old lifestyle) with a hint of Indian that I'm pulling into it (pfft, I like my desert people and manly jaws, so after Grayson I went to town a little more with the jaw/nose okkkk? xD). Their backgrounds are still kinda in flux and I'm working on them, as are surnames. Dekker's a pain in the ass for surnames as I keep thinking of things then disregarding them - "Fire-something" is just too obvious with his hair >.> Fantasy is totally -not- a genre of mine xD

These two are 23 and 20 years respectively... Supposedly >.> But compared to our party's fighter and paladin, that's not too bad. Our -front line fighters- are both 16 years old. I give our party a few days before the cleric's donkey is killed and Nazir's guard dog turns into rations.

Favourite thing in this picture? Nazir's stubble. Srsly. I like how it come out, and all it took was some tiny lines and a low opacity black layer. Simple, yet it's the thing I like the look of most xD

ALSO WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT - completely accidental and I didn't realise until now - but their hair, red and black. Red and black ALWAYS crop up in things of mine. It's a theme that apparently appears whether I realise it or not... D:

Dekker and Nazir are mine, while everything else is D&D (though I altered the design of the halfling in the book because my god, they look mutated when you stick with their proportions).
