Jeeez, Gray, you’ve got the money so I think it’s about time you invested in a new set of playing cards. Y’know, ones that aren’t splashed with blood.


So, two years of Grayson today ('cause it's the 5th where I am now ;3).

The two of hearts is supposed to be all ~symbolic~ . Two = two years, obviously, and the heart (because Grayson is more of a spade guy) is for all that heart and soul I’ve put into him *cough cough* cheesey *cough* >.> xD

Two years since I came up with this mess of a character and story, all thanks to playing Deus Ex (three times in one month >.>) xD:


If we ignore the fact his story (well make that the eight and three quarters that I’ve written… with two more planned ;D) has changed completely and there is absolutely no DX influence anymore… To be honest, he hasn’t changed that much in design (just ethnicity xD), but his personality has developed like crazy. He’s gone from a relatively flat character who was indifferent to most things, grumpy and used to just stick to what he knows, to someone who is a heck of a lot more out there, jumps into dangerous situations, flails around in them, but usually comes out in one piece… at least mostly. He’s become a lot more dedicated, determined and wilful, and has a stronger sense of duty to his country than he’d ever thought possible. He’s not afraid to question authority if he thinks he can do it better and he’s a lot happier about throwing his weight around in the big wide world, not just in his casino. He knows he’s gone up in the world and he uses that for the ‘greater good’. And he knows he’s changed too. He’s fully aware that he’s that little bit more aggressive, possibly a little more cold hearted too when it comes to taking people out – it bugs him that he can pull a trigger without any remorse now. He accepts it, but that doesn’t mean there’s not a part of him that’s not happy about it. He’s fully aware he’s changed, but he at least questions whether it’s for the best or not. He likes to think it is, but sometimes… not so much.

He’s still my mostly capable vigilante who does everything in his power to stop the bad guys, even if that usually sees him being used as a punching bag. He lacks finesse, y’see... But he’s still simple man underneath it all and after being put through hell and back, he only needs three things to get by; his Rosso e Nero casino and resort, black coffee and tailored suits. And occasionally a shot of whiskey and a little banter with Isaac ;D

Isaac came onto the scene, like, a week after Grayson or so, not quite sure of the day because he was originally not meant to be anything more than a minor sidekick. But he’s a little bit more than that now xD I just couldn't be bothered to draw his face, but oh well >.>



… Oh, and today is also Alex’s seventh year anniversary too. But pfft, oldest and most important character to me or not, he doesn’t get a picture either xD That's the downside of sharing a creation date with Grayson, who's far more fun to draw xD
