Deus Ex - Grayson

Edit: Gray's past/history/whateverthehellitis has now changed quite impressively, what with me deciding to write it. He's still a casino worker, stalking people through surveillance, but rather than get the augs from pro-aug groups, some top guys in Vegas are using him as a pawn to check some stuff going down in the Rosso hotel/casino. Yeaaaah. He still mooches. He's a sarcastic arrogant, cocky grump.







Sketchy, sketchy, scruffy, scruffy x3 Just a quick portrait of a new character, because I just couldn't envision him quite right until I had a picture of him staring at me. As it was, he's based, somewhat, off Colin Farrell, since he seemed to keep popping up in my mind when thinking of him. Hence the facial hair, because I hate drawing it, as it never comes out right.

I have a thing for making characters related to games I like, which have enough of a plot/story to offer the chance to create 'one of your own'. As with Mass Effect, I have Ceryk and Qar, and with Assassin's Creed I have Volaire and Sal. The latter two, because they're human, can be used out of the AC universe too.

So, the latest game to my repertoire is Deus Ex: HR. I wasn't sold when I started playing it, because nothing I planned actually worked out/I never had any ammo, but now I've got the knack of it, I do adore it. I also love the story and the depth of the background.

And because I've almost finished the game (but will do another play through afterwards for achievements etc), I decided to make myself a character to fill that empty void that will come ;3 - and because he's human, he can be another random character, yay!

Ramble commence...!

So here we have Devin Grayson, who goes by Gray or Grayson, in his late thirties (early when he was augmented) around 2032. He's head of gaming surveillance at the Rosso E Nero casino in Las Vegas, which is all gloriously made up. He was anti-augmentation to the point that he lost his job for not getting 'required upgrades' when it became compulsory for employees to get pimped. But after getting sucked into anti-aug demonstrations, after getting beat up and shot at by pro-aug groups, he and some others wound up being subjected to a range of augmentations against their will by extremists. But because the pro-augs were aiming to show them how useful enhancements were, each one was given augs that would be applicable in their jobs.

Long and the short of it, Gray flips the hell out when he comes too, sulks and mooches for a couple of months where he nearly kills him by refusing drug treatment. But comes to terms with things and goes back to work, where stuff goes down and he has to use his augs to help him deal with it (this may be a written story at some point).

Augmentations he has include a number to his vision, including night vision (he prefers the night shift at work), a pimped up heart for increased stamina, cranial implants for linking with surveillance and a social addition that allows him to know if someone is lying (of course, this is very handy when he wants to play down on the casino floor...). Also has biomechanical right arm, which was mainly for the hell of it, due to them being the most controversial of augmentations . And because they're cool >.>

Yay for Grayson? o/ Mistakes are problaby present in his background, but that's only because I basically made it all up with only three days worth of Deus Ex knowledge behind me xD
