How many people have they slept with?
In Isaac's case, zero, zilch, no one. He may have had little flings and encounters during college, but since he spent five years locked away from the world, he wasn't in a situation to get himself a girlfriend, let alone have contact with women!
Now Grayson is a different story. He hates commitments but loves women, and he'll sleep with anyone he can lure into his bed. I'd say he's probably had three or four a year on average, so that works out at roughly sixty, or so. He's stupidly promiscuous. Haha, Vegas has a good supply of women coming and going after all! And he has a personal rule that he'll never sleep with the same woman more than once in case they get the wrong idea he makes it clear that it's a one night stand and nothing more to avoid any complications.
Do they get easily attached to people?
Neither of them are particularly quick to trust to be honest. Isaac is wary of being used now, while Grayson treats most people as suspicious until he gets to know them relatively well. So since they distance themselves from people they don't get attached to people that easily. Grayson has his friends and colleagues, but they're just that, nothing special. He's also not particularly well acquainted with relatives either. And while Isaac does have trouble getting close to people now, if he trusts them he becomes incredibly attached to them. Point in case is Grayson, since he is incredibly attached to him, as he's the only person in his world that he knows he can rely on, and he likes to have someone to lean on.
Outline of any psychological issues/complexes they may have.
Grayson can be an egotistic ass from time to time, if that counts as a complex, haha. He can get out of control when he becomes confident and cocky and he usually takes one hell of a fall soon afterwards that deflates his ego. I suppose his fear of water could be counted as a psychological issue, as it can cause him to freeze up completely, and in certain circumstances, such as being out of his depth (quite literally), he flips out and loses control of himself. Not a panic attack, he just flips and flails wildly.
Isaac's probably got some underlying issues that I should expand on, but they never really surface. He's not entirely confident in himself after his little incident and he can have panic attacks if he finds himself in a spot that makes him uncomfortable for example if a lot weight on his shoulders in something he's inexperienced with. And to compliment Grayson's fear, fire sets him off. Much like Grayson he freezes, but he's more likely to pass out than him. He won't flail, he just seems to glaze over and become unresponsive.
Are they trustworthy?
Isaac's entirely trustworthy. If he gives you his word you know he'll stay true to it.
Grayson is mostly trustworthy. There are times when he'll break a few rules to benefit himself, but otherwise he values loyalty quite highly. And since he takes a while to trust people himself, he feels he should try to make himself as appealing as he'd like others to be to him.
Apart from each other, who are their main friends (past and present)?
In the present, Isaac's mainly only friends with Grayson since he doesn't get out too much, but he's well acquainted with the Rosso e Nero's surveillance team who he works with from time to time. His past is never really explored because he doesn't talk about it that much, so I don't have names of past friends, but I know he had a few friends in his local town because it was small and close knit, while he had a band of about four or five fellow computer buddies when he was at college. He'd probably like to try and reconnect with them, but since everyone he knew was told he was dead, it's not the best of ideas.
Grayson's knows a huge number of people across Las Vegas, having been there his whole life. But friend-wise, Nico Maddox and Heath Doncaster from surveillance are close buddies of him. His 'best friend' that he's known since high school is the Rosso's head valet, Duke Fredericks and while they don't get to see each other that much, they're sporting buddies and regularly play tennis or fence together. He was good friends with the head of security, Trent Hamilton, but he was shot and killed during an incident in the casino. His replacement, Zane Cole, is a friend too, since he helped spring him out of prison and he feels he owes him a lot for trusting him and helping.
What are their views on lying?
Isaac doesn't lie, plain and simple, because he can't. He has no ability when it comes to a poker face, haha. Grayson meanwhile dislikes lying to his friends, but has no qualms about doing it with anyone else, be it the men he works for or his family. He believes that white lies are more than acceptable, for example he lies to his whole casino/most of his employees, since they don't know he's their boss and they think he's just involved with Roxanne Prior, the one who is the face of the Rosso for him. And he knows some things about Isaac's situation that he lies to Isaac about. He doesn't like to lie to him, but he feels it's better off him not knowing, especially since it would destroy the memory of his deceased father.
Are they fans of anything/one (past and present)?
Not quite sure about Isaac on this one. He's never struck me as someone to fanboy over anything! Grayson on the other hand is a fan of college football, though has no preference on team he likes the winners. He doesn't watch it half as much as he'd like to, but when he does, he does love to indulge in it. Though I wonder if it's more for the cheerleaders than the football sometimes
Hmm.
Anger issues?
Isaac doesn't snap in the slightest, and the very rare occurrences he does, it actually terrifies him and he'll instantly apologise profusely and turn into a complete mess. Grayson does have anger issues from time to time though. He has no patience for some people and he'll lash out unashamedly. A favourite past time of his when he's trying to deal with people on the casino floor is smashing faces into the lips of games tables. It's never well received, but sometimes he just snaps.
How does Isaac cope when he has to deal with past memories?
He becomes an absolute mess. It depends on the depth of it, as with passing mentions he mumbles a bit, shrugs but will talk about it. Though coming face to face with them, as per the time they visited the site his house used to be on and his parents graves, he just lost it completely and sobbed his eyes out
Making Grayson a little uncomfortable. But he tries to face them to come to terms with them. He's gradually coming to accept them, but won't truly get over them, especially as he doesn't know the whole story. Which Grayson mostly does.
Favourite gaming platforms?
Isaac's a computer, duh. And Grayson the Playstation, all generations of it.
Favourite games?
Computer-wise, Isaac like strategy, something that makes him think and he has to take his time. Grayson prefers things where you don't think and just blaze in with the trigger held down which is reflected in the way they work in real life, haha. Board game-wise though, they both love chess. Isaac's also partial to Scrabble.
Gray's favourite pick up line/preferred method of seduction?
Get the woman drunk, and leer over her unashamedly. He's painfully sleazy too. He is essentially a dirty old man, but for some reason women fall for it. He's pretty despicable, but at least he's open with his advances and doesn't shy away from telling the woman what he wants them for. They do have the chance to run, and while most do, a good number don't either. And he doesn't even mention money after he comes into it.
Do either of them want pets/ children/ a family?
Isaac wants all of the above. He wants normality and to try and get back what he once had. A wife, two kids and a dog; the perfect stereotypical family. Grayson on the other hand wants none of them. He's the only person in his life and he likes it that way. The idea of having such commitments makes him shudder.
How do they react to constructive criticism/ insults/ physical pain?
All of the above sees Isaac shrinking away. He's got a very low pain threshold so he's likely to pass out too. He's most likely to listen to constructive criticism from someone he knows, and especially with Grayson he'll accept it. Probably ignore it, but accepts it. Grayson will tell anyone who insults him or even tries to critique him where to shove it and snaps. Usually he controls himself if he's working in the Rosso, but outside of that he'll be more aggressive. He's pretty good with physical pain, able to carry on with injuries, but that's mainly only thanks to a few bits of tech that are to make sure he's more resilient and able to keep working even with a broken something.
Are either of them self-sacrificing? And in what circumstance?
Isaac would be for Grayson or anyone that he trusts he would have been for his family and was willing to throw himself into hell to save his sister had things not gone wrong. And for all the ego Grayson has, he's pretty selfless when he gets off his high horse. The work he does protecting people in his casino and outside of it with his vigilante deal means he will throw himself in the path of a bullet for anyone. His outer layer is one that makes him seem as though he's better than everyone else, but he knows deep down, and accepts that knowledge, that there are far better people out there than him that he'd give his life for, even if he doesn't know them personally.
Do they have any in-jokes that nobody else would get?
Not really, I don't think. They might make passing comments about "that time in Florence Penitentiary" or something else that only they know about and laugh, but not really an in-joke, per say.
Are they creative in any way (art, literature etc)?
Neither of them really have the time to be creative. They both juggle three different 'jobs' at the same time, so have little spare time. I suppose Isaac's creative with computer programming, but Grayson rarely has an hour off some kind of work to relax, and that's usually spent with a beer in his hand.
Favourite books? Authors? Genre?
Isaac doesn't really read fiction that much, but he had a thing for fantasy when he was younger, while Grayson prefers sci-fi action books. Names and titles are a bit eh, since they're probably something that's from the future and hasn't been written yet
!
Oh, just remembered, Isaac likes Lewis Carrol - Alice in Wonderland etc C:
Batch #2 from *MixkVII answered by myself
Favourite take-away?
It's always hard to answer food questions for Isaac, but he probably lived off Chinese and pizza while he was at college when he was too busy to feed himself. Grayson always tends to eat out and grabs whatever he can from the Rosso's food court, so does fastfood count as a take-away? Chicken burgers are a favourite.
Biomechanical capabilities? (As in anything enhanced or hindered because of the mechanical elements)
Since not all their upgrades are 'mechanical' in an obvious sense, I'll add chips etc too. For Isaac he doesn't really have any enhancements beyond neural chips to help him monitor Grayson. He's not been 'upgraded', he's just been 'fixed'. That's why he still wears glasses, because he hasn't been altered to be perfect or get rid of imperfections. If anything, being made of metal on one side causes no end of trouble for him, from getting comfortable in chairs to being able to walk long distances he always has a constant limp he tries to hide because he's quite stiff in the back/left side.
Grayson on the hand was packed full of bits and pieces against his consent. He shares neural implants like Isaacs for communication, but he also has a lie detector of sorts. But it's pretty awful and he has to be looking dead at the person for it to work and even then it just flashes a little red light on his small heads up display in his retinal implants. So if someone's just said a long spiel, the lie could be anything they've said, so he still has to work out what it is.
Most obviously with Grayson is his right arm, also known as the EMA or Electromagnetic Arm. It's one of ten that were built, and all bar two were destroyed (he and one of the Four have the remaining ones), because they were deemed too dangerous. The EMA is capable of producing an NNEMP (non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse) that can disrupt anything electronic, from computers to people with chips, and runs off electrical energy stored from natural nervous impulses, since humans are electrical in their own way. He can control the strength and radius of the pulses, but as soon as he runs out of juice he'd usually screwed. Depending on how much energy he exerts it can take between one to three weeks for it to fully recharge again, during which time he can feel a little drained. Also, to make sure he doesn't have himself knocked out by his own EMPs, he's got shielding over the majority of him nanites under his skin form a protective complex of sorts to shield him. He also has self-replicating nanites in his bloodstream to aid with repairing any internal wounds and they make it much easier for him to keep on his feet things still hurt, but a broken ankle can be usable, although very carefully, within a week.
Issues with having a cyberprosthetic arm is that it can occasionally become unresponsive, especially if shot, and it also makes sleeping difficult, haha.
Favourite sport (past or present, if they have one)? What team do they support?
Isaac's never been a sporty person, but if he had to pick, he'd rather watch baseball and support the Red Sox.
To play himself, Grayson likes tennis and fencing, and misses the days when he was a lineback for his high school football team. He likes to watch football from time to time, and supports whoever looks as though they're going win, haha.
Favourite drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)?
Isaac's boring and just likes water. He can't really drink alcohol because of his medical issues, though the one time Grayson has managed to get him drunk, accidentally, he turns into a mess so that'll never happen again. Grayson lives for strong black coffee and can barely function unless he drinks three or four cups a day. Alcohol-wise he likes cheap beer and expensive scotch whiskey, depending on the occasion.
Did they 'experiment' when they were younger?
Neither of them were particularly wild like this, haha. Isaac never really understood girls quite right, but never looked to guys as an option. And Grayson loves women too much to even have thought about looking at a guy.
Any rivals/frenemies?
Since Isaac technically doesn't exist and only a small number of people know him, he doesn't have any issues like this everyone gets on with him after all.
Grayson meanwhile has quite a few. Specifically he has Adrian Jackson, a security in the neighbouring Skyline resort, and they always but heads when they meet, which kicked off over Grayson making it a habit to sleep with the his girlfriends and get them to leave him. So whenever Grayson goes into the Skyline he's usually jumped by Jackson. And there's Leonard Simmons, Deputy Chief of the Homeland Security division in Vegas's Metro police department. They started off on bad footing and while they can work together now, they rub shoulder quite a bit because Grayson's work can cross over with whatever Simmons is doing. They're not quite rivals, but Grayson loves to rub him up the wrong way, especially since he's got immunity against arrest and Simmons is always waiting for the day when he can bring him in and charge him for things.
Any foods they won't eat? And why?
Isaac never liked spicy foods or anything overly greasy. Not quite true now since he craves greasy things when he shouldn't really eat them. Grayson meanwhile hates any form of potatoes and tomatoes. He just doesn't like the taste of them, simple as that. He also doesn't eat any form of pork his mom is a Muslim and he was never exposed to pork, so it's one of those things that you've never eaten and claim to hate without even having tried it.
Situations they would hate/ be unable to cope with?
Isaac hates crowds or having a lot of eyes on him. He'd shrink away or just freeze up. Grayson meanwhile hates any kind of family gathering. He cannot deal with family relations and the general feeling that comes with relations.
What brand of deodorant/ shower gel/ soap do they use?
Probably something we don't have now? Haha. Isaac wouldn't care particularly and just take whatever he can get, while Grayson's likely to have at least five or six different types of everything for variation. He spends enough time in his bathroom after all.
Any odd quirks that are noticeable?
Depends on what's meant by quirks, and if by that, habits. Isaac always shifts his weight from foot to foot when he's standing because it can get uncomfortable for him. Grayson tends to bite his tongue and chew his bottom lip a lot. Also he picks at a decorated metal plate on his arm when he's uncomfortable the metal plate that hides the little blade, so not always that safe, haha.
Do they think more about their own actions, or the actions of others?
Isaac's usually one to think about both. He's conscious of what he does, but also tries to acknowledge what others are doing and if it'll impact on anything that's going on. Grayson doesn't tend to think about his actions at all and just throws himself into situations. He's trained to think about the actions of others more than anything, so is always on alert for anything anyone else is doing to seem or feel off.
Are they stubborn or apologetic when proved wrong?
Isaac is crazily apologetic. He will gush apologies and looks positively distressed about whatever he's done wrong. Grayson meanwhile is a stubborn ass and even if he's wrong he might respond aggressively to someone telling him otherwise. He'll only really listen to Isaac or his friends if they're correcting him. He's reluctant to listen to his employees/those under him in security from time to time though.
How many languages do they speak? What are they?
Isaac primarily only speaks English, though knows a little German from his grandfather. Grayson speaks English and Arabic, as per someone who was brought up in a multicultural household. He used to know Arabic fluently when he was younger, but lack of practise means it takes him a bit of listening and thinking to get back into the flow of things. He was brought up by his mom, who was on her own the majority of the time with his dad deployed overseas, for quite a few years, so while she was learning English to a better standard, she'd just talk to him in Arabic. And he'd respond in English to irritate her, haha.
What qualifications do they have? What grades?
Isaac should technically have a MEng in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) from MIT, but since he never graduated and 'died', that's not the case. But he's currently working on achieving the same thing all over again and is then going on to do a PhD. Grades are still eluding me in regard to American collage systems, haha, but it would be the highest one, which is a distinction in England.
Grayson meanwhile left high school with average grades, but with AP Statistics (5), AP Calculus AB (5) and BC (5) he's a little known maths genius who could have gone to college to study it further but wanted to get into the world of work as soon as possible.
Do they have any peculiar/ interesting/ not very useful in the real-world talents? What are they?
Isaac can probably talk your to death about computers, haha. Probably a good chunk of what he knows isn't even that applicable in the real world. Grayson's very good at reading people. If he played card games he'd be able to wipe the floor with them, but since he doesn't gamble, it's not always a useful talent.
When are their birthdays?
Isaac's 7th July 2007, and Grayson's 23rd December 1992.
Favourite mythical creature?
This would just make the two of them uncomfortable, haha. Isaac would probably pick something like a dragon, while Grayson would refuse to answer this because he's too manly to like mythical things. But he'd probably say dragon too because he's unoriginal.
The randomest fact they know?
I honestly can't think of anything random that they might know. All their knowledge is specific to their jobs so they don't have space for superfluous things. And if it was something unrelated, it would probably not be 'random' and have some kind of application in the world, haha.
If they could each pick an element to control, what would it be and why?
Isaac would be water and Grayson fire. Isaac's pretty chill and water fights his fire. Grayson's got a temper and is pretty fiery himself. And that way they both control each other's fears.
Do they like comics/ manga? Which ones?
Isaac was never really a fan of comics despite having a number of friends who liked them. Grayson didn't read them, but he had a thing for the Marvel universe. He still likes to compare himself to Iron Man/Tony Stark, just without the problem with alcohol and better looking.
Have either of them trained in any martial art/ combat style? Which ones? To what level?
Isaac wouldn't hurt a fly, so the concept of doing anything like that even for self-defence would never even be entertained. Grayson's never had any kind of real training, but he did have a week or so with the FBI where they taught him a few handy moves, blood chokes, pressure points all that sort of thing. But he usually just opts for punching people in the face and is more of a brawler because he's got height and weight on his size. But hey, if he was given a sword, he'd be able to fence you into the ground.
Age when first kissed by a non-family member?
Isaac was probably four or five with a local girl, as little kids like to kiss other little kids, haha. Grayson was probably closer to fourteen or fifteen, since he's not a fan of casual affection and just made out with a girl instead.
First love?
Isaac would probably say recently with a girl called Becky, but since she shot him and tried to kill Grayson, he likes to pretend he didn't really like her. Grayson doesn't really love anyone he gets with, he lusts instead. First time he ~made~ love though would be when he was sixteen, haha.
Any allergies/ intolerances to anything?
Isaac's painfully allergic to cats. He just turns into a sneezing and runny eyed mess. He's pretty sensitive to hay fever and pollen too. Grayson's pretty healthy and doesn't have any large issues, though if he eats too much in the way of fatty foods he can get killer headaches hence why he prefers salads.
How do they like to sleep (e.g. curled up, starfish-ed, etc.)? How many pillows? What do they wear to bed?
When Isaac does sleep it's with four pillows, in a t-shirt and boxers and dead flat on his back. He can't really curl up since he's not that flexible. Grayson meanwhile doesn't bother with pillows thought usually has two, sleeps in his boxer-briefs or nothing at all, and just sprawls. He's completely all over the place and quite a mover in his sleep. He also has a tendency to walk straight for the shower, soaking wet still and fall asleep on his sheets just like that.
What time do they usually wake up? Go to sleep? What affects this?
Isaac's usually awake the majority of the time, so doesn't really sleep because of the drugs/medication he uses and a very screwed up metabolism. In a normal week working at the Rosso, Grayson's an early bird, getting up at either five or six depending if he has a gym session, then hits the hay at either ten or twelve. All this goes out the window if he's working for the Four, and usually when he's finished he'll sleep until midday because he gets exhausted.
Do they have a morning routine? An evening one?
Isaac again is pretty null and void here, since he just works all the time. And again for a normal day, if Grayson has a gym session, he's up at five, to the gym at six, in the showers at eight and on the floor as soon as possible to grab a coffee. If he doesn't he's up at six, spends a forever in his bathroom preening and showering, then hits the floor at eight. In the evening it depends if he's helping out or working for longer, but he's usually finished by eight or nine, when he just grabs something to eat and goes to sleep basically straight away.
Their take on the meaning of life?
Neither of them are quite sure, especially with their current circumstance. Before they had normal lives, they just took life in their stride and went about the usual routine of a job meaning money, which was their life. But now their meaning of life has changed a little more and they're more aware of things going on around them and how everyone impacts on everyone else. They both do what they can to make everyone else's lives run smoothly, and that's their life now.
Favourite word/phrase/thing they say a lot?
This is super hard since I don't keep track of things like this when writing, haha. The only thing I can think of when they're talking is calling each other 'old man' and 'kid'. That's a occurrence I'm acutely aware of.
Favourite country? Area of said country?
Isaac's never been outside of America, so he has to say America, and his loves his home state of Maine, but has a strong love of Boston too, since he spent a few years there. Grayson gets painfully home sick and before the Four had never left a hundred mile radius of Las Vegas without the burning desire to run back home. So although he's been to England (though he spent the four days there in a holding room in the airport where he was essentially tortured before he was sent home), the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia since working for the Four, America is still his number one country that he loves to death. And his favourite place is obviously Las Vegas, and always be.
Favourite fruit? Meat? Vegetable?
Isaac likes bananas, beef and carrots, though not all together, haha. Grayson's a fan of pineapple and exotic fruits, while he loves chicken and any kind of fish, though specifically tuna. Vegetable-wise he could live of lettuce if it was possible.
Lucky/fave number?
Isaac's is three, and Grayson's seven. No idea where Isaac's come from, but it seems to fit him somehow, while Grayson's seven if the age old lucky number seven (and is a number I use in the lottery a lot and never actually win anything with haha).
How lazy, on a score of 1-10 (10 being the least active) are they both?
Isaac's probably about a 7, but only because he's not interested in doing anything sporty and the likes, and he can't really get around that much and sits in front of computers. Grayson was probably the same, maybe more of a 6, before he started to work for the Four, but now he's probably about a 3 or 4. He works out regularly because he needs to stay fit for their work, and he finds himself running away from/towards people quite a lot recently. He has to stay active so that he doesn't wind up passing out from exhaustion. It's not so much something he wants to do, but knows he needs to do.
Batch #3 from : MixkVII: answered by myself
What was Isaacs's relationship with his family like?
Essentially it was one of those impossibly good relationships. Everyone got on the majority of the time, even Isaac and his sister. It was probably because they each had their own space and weren't on top of each other all the time. His dad was away from home Monday to Friday, and his mom worked all day. So they had reasonable time together without it becoming too much. And because Isaac and his sister were raised well they got on like best friends and since they were in a small little one street town, they didn't have many close neighbouring friends outside of school. Weekends were important family times when they'd get together and do something nice as a family Friday evenings when his dad got back were always spent by the local lake, fishing and sitting at a camp fire. When Isaac went away to college, relations probably improved even more, because again, more space means seeing each other means even more when you do. But he had more contact with his dad while he was away since his dad was one of his professors. So he'd usually see his dad for a couple of hours each day and maybe again in the evening if they met up. They had an idyllic family, the kind that are just ripe for ruining
Haha
>.>
What are their opinions on antiques/art?
Neither of them are particularly interested in high culture things like that. Isaac might be more inclined to go to a museum, but Grayson would be bored out of his mind. The concept of having to think about something more than necessary to understand or get anything out of it isn't his cup of tea.
Attitudes to cleaning?
Despite being a little messy, Isaac's not too bad at cleaning. He keeps things clean at least, though occasionally leaves things lying around his apartment to trip over. Grayson on the other hand won't do a thing. His apartment looks like a clothes bomb has gone off in it all the time, with something always on the floor. Usually its underwear or dirty/damp towels, but even his expensive suits (like, five thousand dollar suits) find themselves screwed up in heaps on the floor. Beer bottles also join the clothes. Even in the surveillance office his desk usually becomes littered with dirty mugs and plates if no one else bothers to wash them for him. He just likes a little clutter, so it's not just purely laziness.
Do they like/mind having their pictures taken?
Isaac's pretty self-conscious about his appearance generally, so he's most likely to shy away from a camera. But it depends what the photo's going to be used for, since if it's personal, he wouldn't mind as much, but anything going public would be a no go. Grayson on the other hand would happily stand in front of a camera all day. He has no issues with being photographed, and he even likes occasionally to get the chance to get on the news.
Choice of footwear for both?
Isaac's all about comfort in his clothes, so flat, light sneakers/trainers. Cheap, simple and easy to replace his left foot doesn't looks like a human foot, so it's more likely to wear through shoes quickly in all the wrong places. With Grayson it depends on what he's doing. Working, he has super, overly shiny leather shoes, while casual he prefers some old ancient tattered cowboy boots.
Can either of them sing well?
Isaac's not exactly musical and is probably pretty tone deaf, and I can't see him as the kind to sing. He hums when he works, but that's about it. Grayson never sings or anything similar, but with the kind of voice I imagine him having, he's probably able to keep in tune and wouldn't be a bad singer he'd probably surprise people at a karaoke bar, haha.
Opinion on being 'environmentally friendly'?
Even with all the electricity he uses, Isaac's a little conscious of the environment. He recycles, switches things off if he's not using them, all the general things. Grayson acts like he couldn't give a damn, but he's aware of environmental issues impacting on things. So he prefers the Rosso to use environmentally friendly products, recycle where possible, and since electric cars are a little bigger in their future, the fleet of vehicles that the Rosso has are all electric or at least hybrids.
Opinion on sightseeing?
Neither of them are particularly well-travelled, so aren't usually in a position to sightsee. Isaac's never been out of the country, but he did visit local places with his parents and played tourists, trailing around after them. Grayson only left Vegas/Nevada recently and those times he's always working so doesn't have the time to really look around. But if he does find himself with a few minutes to spare he does like to at least visually assess the cities he visits and admire bits and pieces. He rather likes Washington DC, and wouldn't mind checking the city out a little more, and he did develop a liking for the UAE when he visited his grandparents/was doing some stuff there, and he'd probably enjoy the chance to spend some time in Dubai when there's not a bounty on his head.
Do either of them have embarrassing novelty slippers/underwear/t-shirts etc.?
Isaac probably would have had when he was younger, or at least, with his family, but that would have been destroyed in the fire. Probably amusing souvenir t-shirts and the like. Grayson would never be seen dead even possessing something like that. I get this feeling his surveillance team are the kind of guys (and gals) to buy him novelty things, especially about his beloved Las Vegas, but he probably humours them only to chuck them out.
How much influence did their parents have on their dress-sense when they were younger?
Isaac would have had free rein, able to pick and choose what he wanted within reason. Though his dad probably liked to put him in oversized MIT tops as the prodigal son. Grayson might have been a little more controlled since his mom is the kind of woman who'd like to dress her kid as she wants. Which is probably why he started to rebel a little more when he was in his teens, wearing things he's ashamed to even think about nowadays.
If they could both dye their hair any colour (and get away with it) what colours would they choose?
I'm pretty sure they're both happy with their natural hair colours. Isaac might take it down a little to a light brown because having ash blond hair that's pretty long isn't exactly his preferred look and he dislikes being mistaken for a girl at a quick glance. Grayson probably had a spate of dying his hair in his rebel phase, maybe adding in blue/red highlights and the likes, but he likes black. As a kid it would have been the 'dark and emo' look, but with him now it's smart and goes nicely with dark suits. And he'd never think about dying his hair to get rid of the grey he thinks it makes him look more refined. He'd like to grow old gracefully and not hide the process, even though he's probably going to end up as totally silver by the time he's sixty, maybe earlier since he started going grey in his thirties.
Favourite name?
It would be dangerous to let Isaac get started on something like this. Anything and anyone related to science probably, so he can play off his own name. Though I could see him naming any children Charles/Eve/Hannah after his family to be honest. Grayson meanwhile has never thought about anything like this, since the last thing he wants is a family. If someone asked him that question, he'd probably just responded with a confused expression and "Grayson?"
Did you pick their names first, or draw the character/come up with their personalities first?
I picked their names first before drawing them/their personalities. With Grayson it took a while to get his name, but it settled in when I started writing but I did draw him before I started to write about him, which is unusual for me. Isaac didn't get a face until a few weeks later, which isn't that much real time, but I'd written a heck of a lot about him by then. He originally wasn't supposed to even have a face, since he was always planned to be the voice in the background with a name, but I liked him too much to not have him get in on the action.
Do their names have any particular meaning/importance to you, or their respective families?
Their names mean something to me, in my own bizarre way, since I have a little theme in my writing because I suck at coming up with names usually. Isaac comes from the main character Isaac Clarke in the Dead Space trilogy, and Becker comes from Beckett, the main guy in FEAR 2 (but Isaac Beckett didn't sound quite right). Devin was actually random, and was originally Devon but the 'on' was wrong with the 'on' of his surname, while Grayson came from the first name of the lead character in Bulletstorm, Grayson Hunt. But Grayson's name was originally Guy Harrison though, which is now the name of his VTOL pilot, so his first incarnation didn't go to waste.
In regard to family importance, Isaac was probably named after Isaac Newton, at least, that's what I go with. And Grayson/Devin was his mom trying to think of something unisex (she didn't know if he was a girl or boy until he was born), and something that she thought was 'American'.
How would they both deal with having to work with someone that is (obviously) mentally unstable?
Isaac would be patient, Grayson not in the slightest. But it depends in what sense they're mentally unstable and if they're manageable or not. Either way, I think Grayson would just walk off, maybe after a few tries to get through to them, but otherwise that would be it. He's not a fan of having to spend more effort than necessary with people he's been put with, not unless it directly impacts on him/the Rosso.
How do they both react to drunk/high people? (When they're sober, that is)
Isaac steers clear of them as much as possible. He hates being around people who aren't really aware of what they're doing since they scare him a little. Grayson's fine with them though, since he works around them every day. He's used to getting them from A to B, stopping them from being disruptive, all that stuff. Drunk people he's usually relatively patient with, but high people not so much. But that doesn't mean he's always happy with drunkards, since they can drive him up the wall. He just makes sure he keeps a professional facade in place, otherwise he won't be held responsible if they wind up being hit by him, which is what happens if he's out with friends and drunk people interrupt; he's a bit of a bar brawler, sober or not.
Do they have any words/phrases that they hate?
"Good luck" or anything about luck will have Grayson scowl at you. He also doesn't appreciate being told something will be "easy" since it usually sees him with a bullet wedged somewhere. He also hates people talking about "loose slots" in regard to the Rosso, because he keeps them all equal and fair. Similarly Isaac dislikes "It'll be fine" because most of the time it isn't, haha.
What is Isaac's vision like without his glasses?
Not quite as bad as mine? Haha. He's short sighted, but since he can see his computer screens over the top of his glasses without much trouble, it's a lot better than mine. So that would maybe put him at about -3.00? So I think that's about able to read a book/look at a screen, but anything past that becomes blurry and a mess of colours. It's enough that it prevented him from getting to his sister when the house came down as he lost them after tripping up and breaking his foot.
Would either of them want a pet dinosaur, if given the chance?
Depends on the dinosaur. At least, with Isaac, since he'd probably want something small and less likely to try and eat him. Grayson would just scoff at the chance.
Have either of them given anyone flowers? For what reason?
Isaac would have given them to his mom, just 'cause, or for birthdays/other occasions. Grayson probably used to give them out like they were going out of fashion, thinking he'd be able to win women over with them. But no doubt it backfired on him when women caught on with what he was doing.
Would either like the ability to fly if given the opportunity?
Probably not? Isaac doesn't mind flying, but he likes to keep his feet on the ground, and Grayson's got a VTOL and four private aeroplanes to get him from A to B via the sky.
What were Grayson's hobbies when he was younger?
Depends on the age! When he was younger/early teens, he was part of the Amy JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps so the kiddy lead up to the army/the Cadets if you're English!), so he was big on all kinds of sports and anything leadership based. He also did a lot of chess tournaments at this age. When he was a little older/late teens, his hobbies included beating up younger kids, intimidating younger kids and being an ass to younger kids. When he wasn't playing football (Bonanza Bengals, hell yeahz this is a genuine team and Bonanza HS is also a genuine school
I like to have real things exist after all!) and secretly continuing with chess tournaments. If Grayson and Isaac were the same age and had been at the same school, Grayson would have made his life a living hell he was the perfect example of 'geeky' kids that he picked on and purposefully made their life a misery. His hobbies were genuinely making other lives miserable for the chance to fit in with others. As Grayson likes to say now he's older and more mature, he probably would have drop kicked his younger self half way across Vegas for the way he acted.
Favourite sauce to go with chips/French fries?
Ketchup for Isaac, plain and simple. Nothing for Grayson (short of vomit) since he won't touch potatoes.
What did they want to be (career-wise) when they were little?
Isaac wanted to follow his dad's footsteps and become a professor at MIT/some other high up university/college. He still does, really. Grayson went all over the place, from the usual 'boyish' choices, like fireman, cop, soldier, etc, public services jobs with a sense of protection and duty. But he realised the army wasn't for him quite quickly, despite his dad wanting him to join it, and while his mom wanted him to go to college to study math, he just decided in the end to go for whatever came his way. Which, to begin with, was a cleaner, haha. Neither of them would have been able to see their current situation as kids.

What is your favourite ice cream?
Strawberry. Or huckleberry. Any kind of berry, probably. I never really liked vanilla and chocolate never actually tasted like chocolate to me.
If you could have any animal in the entire world that could be your pet, extinct ones included, which would it be?
That's an easy one, an otter. I wouldn't want to have one if it put it out of its habitat, but otters are by far my favourite animal and I'd love to have one. The closest that this has come to being a reality is Gray asking his friend and fellow casino owner, Reginald Hunter of the Nautica, to add an otter section to their aquarium, and I've permission to work with the keep with them. It was the least Hunter could do when Gray leant him a couple hundred million dollars after the Nautica was mostly destroyed apart because of him.
Do you have any irrational fears that seem totally rational to you?
Not really, I don't think. All my concerns would be rational to anyone who knows me. Crowds make me a little uncomfortable, but again, I'd say that's rational.
Can I tie you up in my basement > 3 > ?

What's their room/ workplace look like?
Isaac's workspace and room is the suite that Grayson gave him in the Rosso e Nero on the ninty-eighth floor. It's an apartment in itself, with a kitchen/wet bar, powder room, ensuite master bedroom and even a conference room that acts as storage. In the middle's the main living area with the open kitchen, though it's mainly dominated with computer cables snaking across the floor and half open boxes. As with all the Rosso rooms, the floor to ceiling windows on the far side of the room have three desks pushed up against them with an ever increasing number of computers and screens arranged on. There's probably about three different keyboards, but far more computers, many of which are under the desk. Isaac's either found at his desk or sitting on his bed he has trouble getting comfortable sometimes due to lingering issues from his injuries, so he fidgets a lot.
Grayson's place is at the top of the Rosso, on the floor directly above Isaac's suite. It's attached to a long office that's usually occupied by his PA. It opens immediately into the master bed with an ensuite wet room, with an oversized bed and his personal computer in the corner by the window. Then there's a door that leads into an open plan living area, kitchen, dining and living, but he very rarely goes in there. He likes to live alone, but doesn't like to feel alone. He never cooks because he can't so the kitchen just stores his beer and that's about it.
His main workspace is in the surveillance office, where he's got the largest desk dead in the centre of the room with three screens and two keyboards. The desk's usually got at least four mugs on it, with at least one having a week old dreg of coffee in its bottom.
Superstitious?
Isaac lives for logic and Grayson pretty much too. Despite all the 'luck' that runs through a casino, Grayson actively voices he doesn't believe in it and shuns anyone wishing him good luck.
Most prized possession?
Isaac loves any of his computers he's built from the ground up, or anything he's made from scratch in general. Grayson isn't that material, but he has a soft spot for his age old wrist cuff that he always wears on his left wrist which allows him access to the Rosso's security cameras/his email. But he also rather likes the solid silver shaving set he splashed out on.
Eating habits?
Isaac doesn't have any anymore. Poor guy has no stomach and tends to rely mostly on medication specially developed to imitate all that he needs to keep healthy. That doesn't mean he can't eat however, and he will occasionally steal something of Grayson's to make it look as though he's engaging.
Grayson doesn't feed himself half as well as he really should. He forgets to eat lunch or dinner if he's caught up, and even then he likes his salads and for a guy his size and the energy he burns, it's not always enough.

Can you provide a moderately vague description of an average day for the both of them?
On their downtime when they're not actively working a case for the Four
Isaac spends most of the time in his room, working on either work for collage, so essay writing and the likes, or doing vague bits of research for the Four, while keeping an eye on Grayson. He doesn't sleep much, maybe once a week, so he just keeps going, and days blur into one for him. He'll occasionally come out to see Grayson or others, but keeps to himself mostly.
Grayson meanwhile wakes up early, showers, preens, dresses and gets straight to work, spending up to twelve hours working shifts at a time before he retires to his room, reads a little then goes to sleep. Rinse and repeat.
If they're working for the Four everything goes out the window
!
How long has it been since the very first time you entertained the idea of the characters (i.e. How old are their concepts?)
Grayson came about on the 5th of September 2011, so not that long ago. I was inspired by Deus Ex: Human Revolution and wanted to write something exploring humanity and the use of augmentation. I put something up on Fanfic.net, someone commented with a suggestion and that sparked it going off the rails and turning into something resembling an action film, haha. Isaac came about a little later to be the tech support and light relief for Grayson, so maybe mid-September once I'd started writing. Since then I've been writing pretty much every day with them and not stopped.
About how many full redesigns have you gone through for each?
They haven't really been redesigned, more developed. Appearance-wise Grayson changed ethnicity and Isaac grew longer hair and that's about it. Personality has just developed without me really doing anything.
How did they meet and befriend each other (details please!)?
After Grayson was knocked out for three months and had his arm cut off so that he'd work for the Four, who he presumed were a mafia-type, he was put in contact with Isaac via a 24/7 internal communication link Isaac can hear everything Grayson-related and visa versa occasionally. Isaac was charged with making sure he stayed alive, aiding with tech and guiding him through things. They'd never met face to face at first, but since Grayson found Isaac helping him out with his first 'case', he learned to trust him. They originally weren't ever to meet in person but I wound up liking Isaac so much I couldn't keep him in the background, so after running away from the Four, having been told by one of them (the corrupt one) to get Grayson killed, they met in the clinic that Grayson was lying low in. And things just went from there. Working together and being in contact all the time forms strong bonds after all.
What parts of Isaac have been replaced?
Starting from the top down of generally everything he's had done, Isaac has metal reconstructive plating on the left hand side of his face/head, so he has no left eye or ear. The plating also reinforces his jaw, and he has a few replacement teeth that were knocked out. The reason he has his hair long is so that it covers up patches where hair would no longer grow and it saves me from having to draw it, haha.
Moving down, the left of his neck has a few synthetics to replace tendons and muscles that were damaged, and a little metal plating to once again keep shape and form. All the down his spine, though they get smaller and less towards his lower back, he has a few plates to hold things together. He didn't break his back, but it did get a little crumpled, since he fell a storey then had roof timbers fall onto his back.
His left arm and shoulder are a complete cyberprosthetic, since the shoulder joint/clavicle etc was mangled beyond repair. Plating covers the majority of his rib cage, where he only has a couple of original ribs. His left lung is a prosthetic, while his heart is still mostly organic, just with a few valves reinforced it wasn't damaged enough that it would kill him. He's missing his stomach and a kidney, since while they could have been replaced, they weren't high up on the priority list.
His pelvis/hip area is probably the only part of his left side that hasn't been tampered with, and his left thigh is also fine. Though he has a cyberprosthetic left leg that's attached just above the knee and is one of the main reason he limps a little, since he's never got used to walking with it. He didn't really need the whole lower leg replaced, as it was only his shin downwards that was damaged, but they went all the way just to be on the safe side.
Essentially the majority of the damage was not because of the fire, but the house coming down on top of him. The burns were bad and are why there's so much external metal plating to replace the burned skin, but it was mostly damage from being crushed that led to all his replacement parts.
Technology should have allowed a much more comprehensive and 'pretty' reconstruction and replacement, but the aim was to make him feel uncomfortable around people and to shy away from people and their staring to ensure that he didn't try to rebel and was more content to hide away and listen to the Four.

Favorite programming language and why?
Favourite? Machine code, aka binary, by far. I'm talking the computer's language and understanding at the core. There's nothing more satisfying than working at such a level and although it's mostly natural to me by now, it still manages to tax me. I love being able to do anything and everything with it after a little thought. It's how I develop most of my programmes to make hacking easier. Usually though I work with C++ which is easy enough for simple things, like programmes I have to monitor Gray.
Custom made tools or hacking suits?
If you count the programmes I can run to get me into secure servers? Sure. They take a while to make, but they make later access much easier and quicker.
Favorite color?
Blues, especially turquoise.
Favorite food?
It used to be New England clam chowder, my mom made one of the best in the State, I'm sure of it. But now, since I can't eat a lot, cheeseburgers are a guilty pleasure. I can't eat a whole one, but sometimes I just want to be able to sink my teeth into something real.
Favorite subject in school?
Ha, you have to ask? Physics probably. I honestly liked chem too.
Favorite pass time?
Programming. Yes, my life revolves around computers and I should do other things too, but it's relaxing to me. I loose myself in a whole different world.
Music of choice?
Heh, I don't listen to music? I have to monitor Gray all the time, so the closest I get is whenever I accidentally tune into him singing in the shower.
Fun in the sun or gaming until the sun rises? Neither is an acceptable answer as well.
Neither I'm not that active or sporty outside, and I don't have enough time to game, as much as I'd like to. I multitask from time to time, but not for as long as I'd like.
You find a stray cat, what do you do?
I'm a dog person and I'm horribly allergic to cats, but I wouldn't ignore it. I'd probably give it to Gray to deal with or give it to Nico in surveillance. He likes picking things up off the street and keeping them.
Does the metal on plastic tapping sound of your typing bother you? Do you do anything about it?
Haha, special keyboards, that's the answer. They're not clacking ones of the 2010s, they're flat and smooth and made of a soft gel like material that can be rolled up and moved around. So it doesn't cause a sound in the slightest.

What do you do with all of that money besides run a resort?
Accidentally fund criminal organisations? That's a bad habit I have to break. No, that was a one off. I don't spend it that much to be honest. I don't want people to know I have that much money, so I try to keep it low key. When I do splash out it goes on tailored suits, platinum cufflinks and designer clothes. The cost of my wardrobe would put most women to shame.
I also have a couple of other businesses to keep running the Don't Tell gentleman's club that's a little way away from the Rosso, and Jet Black, a small private airline that I didn't even mean to start don't let finance guys implement their suggestions about what to do with millions of bucks, because they will buy private jets when you think they're just joking. Four planes at the moment, a couple of small ones and a larger stratocruiser, but I have a feeling I'm going to be pushed to buy more by the advisor guy I have running that show for me.
Oh, and Isaac takes some of it. He's welcome to as much as he wants and I don't question what he does with it.
Weapon of choice and why?
I'd prefer to say none really. I don't like using weapons. But I always have my pistol, a modified Glock 17 on my person. I also have a vintage Colt revolver, but that's only taken out on the road a few times with me. I do have a small blade in my forearm but I hate using it, and have maybe used it once or twice in aggression. Stabbing someone is far too personal.
Favorite subject in school?
Math. It was the one thing I was good at. I excelled in it actually. Took a few AP courses in stats and similar too.
Favorite color?
Would it be clichι to say red and black? But I do prefer black, and maybe grey too.
Favorite food?
Chicken, salad, any kind of seafood. Not all together usually though.
Favorite pass time?
Beer and an e-book usually. But a night out in a club with friends is just as good. Otherwise I play tennis and fence from time to time. I also work out alternate mornings. Early. Like six o'clock early.
Music of choice?
Soft rock or indie, when I have the time to listen to it, which isn't that often to be honest.
You find a stray cat, what do you do?
I do like cats, but it's not my job to find it a home. I might tell other people, but I wouldn't pick it up if it was mangy. I wouldn't kick it a mile, but I wouldn't cuddle up to it since I have no idea if the thing has fleas or not.

Sexual Preference for Isaac and Grayson.
They're both straight, so they like their women. Isaac's not that interested in chasing women unless they come across him and they hit it off, but Grayson's not ashamed to chase them to the ends of the earth. He objectifies too, which Isaac doesn't agree with.

Boxers/Briefs/Commando?
Isaac's boxers all the way, usually blue or blue and white. Grayson's boxer-briefs, grey or white, but he does go commando from time to time, usually because he manages to forget.
Seat up/down?
Both like it up. Though while Isaac probably puts it back down out of habit, Grayson probably leaves it up all the time since he's always lived on his own and is too lazy to do anything about it.
Who likes the spicy foods, and do they like huge spoons versus little ones for soup or cereal?
Isaac hates spicy food, while Grayson's ok with it. He won't go out of his way to eat it, but if he's presented with it, he's content. And with soup, Isaac would pick small because he can't eat a lot, while Grayson has a tendency to shovel food into his face if he's eating alone so he'd pick the big one.

Does Grayson ever wear casual attire, or does he only wear suits?
He didn't use to wear casual clothes that much, and lived for suits/suit jackets. But he's a little more casual and relaxed now, especially since he doesn't like to dodge bullets in a suit. He likes smart flairs to his outfits, like a suit jacket or a waistcoat, but he will wear jeans and a shirt/t-shirt. He as a soft spot for chinos though. No idea why, he just likes them. Specially cream or dark beige ones. And he usually wears some tattered old cowboy boots with his casual clothes he's a city boy through and through, so they're fashion rather than practical.

Have you ever gotten side-tracked when you're supposed to be monitoring a mission for Grayson? If so what exactly side-tracked you >.>
Should I really admit to this one? Haha, of course I have. It gets a little boring monitoring him from time to time, especially if there's a lull in anything going on, so I let my mind wander a bit. I'm usually vigilant most of the time, but if I pick up something to fiddle or work with I can get distracted this is especially the case when I have work due for collage. Gray usually lets me know if I've missed something though, usually by yelling at me because he's just a little out of his depth.
Technically I'm supposed to watch him 24/7, but there are something I'd really rather not see or hear. I know when it's ok to be distracted or not, and I think he's pretty glad I do so from time to time!
